We might be biased but we believe we have the best Opp Shop in town with the friendliest volunteers – it’s a little treasure trove of second-hand clothes, shoes, accessories, toys, games, baby needs, linen, kitchen goods, knickknacks, conversations and more!
There are loads of great bargains with new stock added daily as well as monthly specials. You’re invited to come in and shop Wednesday to Friday 9.30am to 3pm and Saturdays 10am – 12pm. (Look for the red and white flags out the front of the church when we’re open.)
Feel free to browse at your leisure or ask one of our friendly volunteers to help – if you’re looking for something specific and can’t find it, be sure to ask as you never know what is out the back!
At our twice yearly MEGA-SALE our hall is transformed into a huge bargain hunters’ bonanza with tables upon tables of quality clothes for just 50 cents each. Watch our Facebook page for sale dates.
As part of our Covid19 Safety Plan there is hand sanitizer available just inside the door, no more than 10 shoppers at a time are allowed inside and all donations are quarantined before they are sorted.
Donations.
A YouGov survey found that 75% of Australian adults have thrown clothes away in the past year. Do your bit to help the environment and donate them instead – Reduce, Re-Use and Recycle! If you would like to bring in donations, you can bring them inside when the shop is open or leave them in the donation bins on Whitfield Street anytime. Please be sure your items are clean and in good condition as we won’t sell anything with stains or rips or broken zips.
We also send sorted clothes to Indigenous communities around the Territory… if you’re travelling to one and have room for a box or two please talk to Irene.
Some Opp Shop funds are used towards the running costs of the shop and the church while profits are dispersed to local, national and international charities and projects. So not only does supporting the Opp Shop help the environment, but it also makes a world of difference to many people in need.
