Also known as Wild Dagga or Lion's Tail, Leonotis Leonurus is a robust shrub which grows up to 2-3 meters tall and 1.5m wide. It is commonly widespread throughout South Africa (Eastern and Western Cape Provinces, Kwazulu-Natal and Mpumalanga) and found amongst the rocks in grasslands.
The active component in Wild Dagga is leonurine , the same alkaloid that can be found in Leonurus sibiricus, and is most concentrated in the flower of the plant.
